This soap has everything I would wish to offer you – a rose scent reminiscent of the best of a British summer, moisturising and gentle on the skin yet producing rich, cleansing and creamy lather that leaves the skin soft.
All my soaps are made in the shape of a loaf and hand-cut into small bars, but I wanted something different for my new rose soap as it is so very special.
So taking my Brother Cadfael rose as an inspiration, the War of the Roses and Elizabethan woodworking, I commissioned this stunning mould that I felt has a simple and understated beauty to match my soap – what do you think?
The Rose soaps have a fresh, clean scent and it makes a pale, rich bar of soap with excellent lather.
We researched a myriad of different recipes and finally settled on the simplest that uses the largest amount of pure Rose oil.
The rose scent of our soaps is not a ‘in your face’ false fragrance, but a soft, enveloping pure natural scent of fresh roses.
The rose looks fair, but fairer we it deem
For that sweet odour which doth in it live.
Rose water has been used for centuries in sweets and desserts however it is also fabulous for the skin.
It is calming and has a wonderful cooling effect. Rose oil is great for reducing redness and healing spots.
Our soap is very special because we use pure steam distilled rose oil rather than small amounts of rose oil diluted in cheap oil and our own Rose hydrosols
Lawn as white as driven snow;
Cyprus black as e’er was crow;
Gloves as sweet as damask roses.
